Price increase
necessary step
Since
some of are barking about TK Legacy’s price increase, I thought I
would explain why it had to be done. It’s a simple reflection of
increased shipping and printing costs we have incurred.
In order to
get cards signed, we have to ship them wherever the athlete is
located. Double and triple autograph cards require multiple
shipments.
As gas prices have increased, shipping prices have
increased.
Some card companies are trying to cut costs by having
athletes sign metallic strips that are attached to cards. But we
refuse to do that. We want the athletes to handle each card they
sign. Our research shows that collectors prefer that. We didn’t
want to raise our prices, but it was a necessity.
I’ve
been sniffing around the office lately and here’s a couple of bones
I can throw you: Ohio State autograph are starting to be shipped
Sept. 15, and the set should be released within a month’s time.
There’s rumbling that the Ohio State V set will be divided into two
series and the second series will be released before Christmas.
Vernon Gholston and Raymont Harris are names that I hear mentioned. But there are whispers that Jim Tressel may sign for one of the
series.
As
if that isn’t big enough, TK Legacy has also reached an agreement
for Super Bowl champion Barry Switzer to sign for our Oklahoma set,
coming out before Christmas.
The
next Notre Dame set will feature a triple autograph card signed by
quarterbacks Jarious
Jackson.
Rick Mirer and Blair Kiel will be featured in our next Notre Dame
set, and I hear whispers that the company is pursuing a couple of
former NFL standouts.
By
the way, we are always looking for players for our set. If you would
like to see a player in one of our sets, and know where to reach that
player, please email us at customerservice@tklegacy.com.
Nothing I like better than hunting down players. I think my great
uncle on my mother's side was a bloodhound, but sometimes we just
can't find the critters we are looking for...
We are going to
tease you a bit now by telling you that within a month we are going
to announce the acquisition of a new pro sports license that we have
secured. We expect to produce our first set in late November. Keep an
eye on our website for more details.
Also,
there are tentative plans for another entertainment product...
And hey, does anyone know the location of former NFL and
Michigan standout Jack Clancy or any member of family? We would like
to put him in our Michigan set. Also, we are looking for former Notre
Dame quarterback Pat Dillingham.
Remember bark less,
wag more.
