Griese latest

to join UM8

to join UM 8

Former Wolverines quarterback (1994-97) and NFL gunslinger Brian Griese has agreed to be part of the next Hail to the Victors set, which will be issued in November. Griese, a walk-on at Michigan, started all 12 games during the Wolverines' 1997 National Championship season. He joins 1997 teammate and former captain Juaquin Feazell and other UM gridiron lumunaries Tripp Welborne and Gary Derricotte as set participants.

Griese, the son of NFL Hall of Fame QB Bob Griese, played 10 seasons in the NFL with Denver, Miami, Tampa Bay and Chicago.

Bubba on board

for next UM set

This week we learned that Bubba Paris will sign cards for our last Michigan set. He was an All-American offensive tackle and played in three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers.

Our tentative player roster also includes running backs Jarrod Bunch and Leroy Hoard, plus defensive backs Randy Logan and Barry Pierson.

Victors 8 on tap

for November

JACKSON, Mich. –  It's official now that Victors VIII  Michigan football trading cards will be issued  in mid-to-late November.

Although the final checklist is incomplete, it will likely include Jarrod Bunch, Leroy Hoard and Randy Logan among others.

"We are talking to some big name players, but I'm reluctant to discuss them yet because haven't received the contracts," said Larry O'Connor, TK Legacy, Inc.

This will be the last Michigan set because the Collegiate Licensing Company has decided to make Upper Deck the exclusive card companies for collegiate hockey cards.

"It's sad for us because we lose some licenses that are dear to us," O'Connor said. "But we plan to keep issuing Ohio State trading cards, and there are other schools that aren't affiliated with CLC that we will be attempting to obtain."

With the changing landscape, Michigan won't be issuing an update set. It will release the final Michigan set in box format.

TK Legacy will reveal more Michigan autograph signers as the contracts come in

Lamonica, who quarterbacked the Fighting Irish from 1960-1962, passed for 19,154 yards and 164 touchdowns during a 12-year career with the AFL Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders. Joining the “Mad Bomber” in Sons of Notre Dame's ring of NFL stars is six-time Pro Bowler Bob Kuechenberg (1966-1968)  who played on the Miami Dolphins’ back-to-back Super Bowl championship teams in 1973 and 1973.
